According to the instructions it was an hour drive (iPhone maps you lied) it was more like a two and a half hour drive, with speeds running at ten miles per hour.. and this was horrible. Obviously, I found this out once we hopped on the five freeway and hardly ever moved. And man was it a long one. Fortunately, i was able to entertain my boys (dance moves come in handy) and it was like the time was on our side..
LA is never an appealing drive and if you live in California you know what I am talking about, but it sure does for a nice local road trip any day.. I think that as much as I hated thinking about this before hand , i enjoyed it . My oldest really took notice of the vehicles by counting them , noticing the rate of speed, and constantly questioning me about what the people in these cars were doing.(literally,"mom what he's doing?) all the way . So our chatter made for an amazing bonding moment even if it meant just talking about cars and humans (wishing they were zombies, it would've been a way more intense talk) but I could deal.
All in all it was an experience, and I love making memories I mean who doesn't.
Lastly, we met with my sister and her kids , they actually live way closer then us, but it some weird way we met on the freeway at the exact time. I did learn this ,last minute planning is always the best.
